Manafold prepares and serves fresh, consistent meals directly to individuals experiencing homelessness, people in shelters, and families facing medical crises across Oklahoma City area. Your support helps us keep showing up, cooking, and serving meals where they’re needed most.
Every donation goes toward preparing and serving meals. Ingredients, packaging, and the supplies needed to cook and distribute food are what keep this work moving.
Manafold is not a food bank. We don’t store or redistribute food at scale. We prepare meals and serve them directly, which allows us to stay consistent and responsive to real needs.
There are times when meals run out and people are still waiting. Support helps us go back, prepare more, and continue serving instead of stopping short.
Food donations are protected under the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. This law encourages individuals and businesses to donate food by providing liability protection when donations are made in good faith to nonprofits like Manafold.
What this means:
Donors are protected when donating food that is safe to eat, even if it does not meet standard retail appearance or labeling requirements. This includes surplus inventory, prepared food, and bulk ingredients. Protection applies to individuals, restaurants, grocery stores, caterers, farmers, and other organizations. As long as the donation is made in good faith and there is no gross negligence or intentional harm, donors are not held liable.
How Manafold handles donations:
All donated food is reviewed and handled with care before it is prepared and served. Our team ensures that items are stored, prepared, and distributed in a way that meets safety expectations and respects the people receiving the meals.
Why this matters:
A lot of good food goes unused simply because people are unsure about liability. This protection allows donors to give with confidence, knowing their contribution can be used to serve meals directly to people who need them.
